Terms and Conditions

Thank you for taking the time to read the following Terms and Conditions. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Code of Ethics and Professional Practice

As a Clinical Psychologist, I adhere to the standards set by my regulatory body, the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), as well as the British Psychological Society (BPS) Code of Ethics and Practice. For more information, please visit the following links:

I operate strictly within my area of expertise. Should I believe that you require a different type of support or a more specialised service, I will discuss this with you and aim to signpost you accordingly.

Your safety and comfort are of utmost importance in our therapeutic relationship. I take your privacy and data protection very seriously, complying with the standards set by the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (2016). My Data Protection and Privacy Policy accompanies this document.

Fees

  • Standard Fee: £130 per 50-minute session.

  • Payments should be made via BACS, with invoices provided. Please use the appointment date as the payment reference.

  • Payment must be completed within three working days of the session. Outstanding fees must be settled before further services can be rendered.

I also accept payments through various insurance companies. If you wish to use insurance, please inform me before our first appointment.

Additional costs may apply for extra services, such as report writing, travel expenses, or meetings with schools.

Confidentiality and Consent to Information Sharing

I adhere to a strict confidentiality policy in line with the Data Protection Act (1998), BPS, and HCPC regulations. Confidentiality will always be maintained, except in the following circumstances:

  1. Professional Supervision: Discussions may occur within professional supervision as required by HCPC and BPS guidelines.

  2. Risk of Harm: If there are concerns about a risk of harm to yourself or others.

  3. Legal Obligation: If I am legally required to share information by a court of law.

If I need to share information with external agencies as outlined in points 2 and 3, I will discuss this with you beforehand, wherever possible.

Family Work: If I am working with a family member, including a child or young person, and they choose not to consent to share conversations with you, I will respect their right to confidentiality unless the information raises safeguarding concerns.

Cancellations and Non-Attendance

A notice period of two working days is required for cancellations; otherwise, the full session fee will be charged. The same conditions apply for missed or non-attended appointments.

Availability

I work part-time in my private practice and hold various other professional roles throughout the week. As a result, my availability is limited, and I may not be able to respond to communications immediately. I aim to reply to any correspondence within five working days.

Sessions can be scheduled weekly or at a frequency that suits your needs. However, due to my other clinical commitments, there may be rare occasions when I am unable to offer an appointment or may need to reschedule. In such cases, I will provide sufficient notice.

In Case of Emergency

Please note that I do not offer crisis services. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency or have immediate concerns about your wellbeing or safety, please contact your GP, visit your local Accident & Emergency Department (A&E), or call NHS 111. Additional support is also available from the following organisations:

  • The Samaritans (24-hour service): 116 123

  • Young Minds: 0808 802 5544

  • Family Lives: 0808 800 2222

Amendments

I reserve the right to amend these Terms and Conditions. In such instances, I will provide notice and allow time for discussion. â€‹â€‹
