Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of support do you offer?

I provide psychological therapy for children, young people and their families. Additionally, I offer specialised psychological treatment for individuals of all ages experiencing tinnitus, hyperacusis, and misophonia.

What can you not help with?

I am unable to provide support to anyone experiencing a psychological crisis who requires immediate assistance or emergency care. In such cases, I recommend contacting The Samaritans at 116 123, visiting your GP, or, in an emergency, calling 999 or going to your nearest Accident & Emergency department. Additionally, I cannot see individuals currently receiving support from a mental health team or those who are simultaneously seeing another psychologist or therapist.

Do you offer therapy online or face-to-face?

Currently, I do not offer face-to-face therapy sessions. All sessions are conducted via an online platform or over the phone, depending on your preference.

How do I arrange sessions with you?

To arrange sessions, please email me at frederike.mueller.psychology@outlook.com or use the contact form on this website. We can schedule a free 15-minute telephone consultation to discuss the support I can offer, including potential dates and times for our first session.

Is what I say in therapy confidential?

Yes, all information shared with me is treated as confidential in accordance with professional ethics, codes of conduct, and data protection laws. However, if I have concerns suggesting a risk of harm to yourself or others, I may be required to share this information with relevant agencies for safeguarding purposes. I will explain this in detail during your first session, and you can find more information in my Terms and Conditions.

Can you tell me about fees for your services?

Initial telephone consultations lasting 15 minutes are free of charge.

The fee for self-funded psychological therapy appointments lasting 50 minutes is £130. I also accept health insurance from providers such as Aviva, AXA Health, and Vitality Health.

I can provide additional support, such as writing letters, completing reports, or attending meetings (e.g., with a child’s school), if this is helpful to you. We can discuss fees for these services on a case-by-case basis. Please ensure you read the Terms and Conditions sent to you before your first appointment, as they contain important payment information.

Do you work with private health insurance providers?

Yes, I am registered with Aviva, AXA Health, and Vitality Health.
